System to Promote Sustainability

Based on the ZENKOKU HOSHO SDGs Declaration, we have been advancing initiatives to resolve material issues. The Corporate Planning Division, which is responsible for promoting sustainability, plans, gives advice on, and manages the progress of specific initiatives in collaboration with each division in the headquarters. It also brings up topics and makes reports at the Management Meeting and the Board of Directors meeting, and receives supervision and instructions.

Process for Identifying Material Issues

To identify material issues, we selected issues from a range of social issues and guidelines. We then assessed and discussed them from the perspectives of stakeholders and ZENKOKU HOSHO, while taking relevance to our business into account.

Selection of social issues
Selected environmental, social, and governance issues from among social issues indicated in the SDGs and domestic and international guidelines for the disclosure of non-financial information, such as the GRI Standards
Assessment of materiality
Assessed the materiality of issues from the perspectives of stakeholders and ZENKOKU HOSHO, while taking relevance to our business into account
Identification of material issues
Identified highly material items to be addressed preferentially by ZENKOKU HOSHO as material issues
Approval at the management level
Discussed and approved the identified material issues at the Management Meeting and the Board of Directors meeting.
